Mallorca is a small but highly sought after neighborhood in the north region of Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Residents enjoy many amenities, and hillside views.
The Mallorca community was built by Newcrest and is comprised of 50 homes. The smallest floor plan has 2,720 square feet of living space with the largest having 3,416 square feet. All homes have five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and three-car garages.
Public education for this community is provided by the Saddleback Valley Unified School District which offers highly ranked facilities such as Melinda Heights Elementary School, Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate School, and Trabuco Hills High School. There are several private elementary schools nearby like Serra Catholic, St. John’s Episcopal, and Mission Hills Christian School. The Santa Margarita Catholic High School is affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Orange. Saddleback College and the University of California, Irvine are nearby and hundreds of higher education institutions are available within an hour’s drive.
There are many trails for hiking and biking throughout this region with the Cleveland National Forest which features hundreds of thousands of wilderness acres. Many small parks offer picnicking, and playgrounds are found like Altisima Park and Solono Park. The 241 Freeway is within minutes for commuters, and shoppers can visit the many centers like Plaza Antonio, Mercado Del Lago, and Plaza El Paseo.
Rancho Santa Margarita is a private master planned community built among rolling hills and one of the newest in Orange County. Most of its home construction was done between 1985 and 2000. Notable residents include rapper Warren G, football player Gavin Escobar, quarterback Jim Everett, and author Martin Dugard.
